Heron Island is a 4-star resort offering 6 Accommodation options with 109 rooms. A Conference Room (Theatre Style) sitting 110 delegates is also available.

The Beach House
Located beachside and set within a grove of trees the Beach House offers filtered ocean views and a private boardwalk provides direct access to the beach. With only one Beach House on offer, this accommodation offers maximum privacy and is located a short stroll away from the central resort facilities and restaurant.

Point Suites
Point Suites are set in a premium position with an outlook that offers uninterrupted reef views and magical sunsets over the Great Barrier Reef. Suites are within easy access of the resort amenities.

Wistari Suites

Wistari Suites are situated within a secluded garden setting with filtered ocean views and offer maximum privacy. Interiors are spacious and include a living area with sofa and armchair and separate sleeping area with King Size bed. Wistari Suites are air-conditioned and have a mini-bar, CD player and telephone in the room.

A private outdoor terrace features wooden furniture and a two person hammock. The Suites are a short stroll away from the central resort facilities, beach and walking tracks.

Heron Beachside Suites
Beachside Suites offer spectacular filtered views over the Great Barrier Reef and are set in a prime beachside location with direct access to the beach and reef.

Reef Suites
Reef Suites are positioned close to the beach and offer filtered reef and water views through a canopy of beachside trees and shrubs. The living area extends outdoors to a balcony or garden setting, interiors are light and comfortable.

Turtle Rooms
Turtle Rooms are located in a garden setting, a short walk away from the beach and close to the central resort facilities. With two rooms per block, all Turtle Rooms are at ground level and feature a deck and outdoor area. Rooms are compact and interiors are bright and fresh. Family room configurations are available.

Full buffet breakfast is included at Heron Island. Three Dining Facilities are available to your disposition.

Shearwater Restaurant
Breakfast and lunch are buffet style while dinner features a 3 course table d’hote or Saturday seafood buffet and mid week Aussie BBQ. Special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement. A picnic hamper service is available on request.

Pandanus Lounge & Baillie’s Bar
The Bar & Lounge features panoramic reef views, with a cocktail bar, entertainment lounge, dance floor and a mezzanine level library area. The
Bar & Lounge opens to an outdoor terrace. Open from 10.00am to midnight.

Heron Island is open year round, with bird season at its peak in January to March. Turtle nesting season is also during this period, and offers the unique opportunity to see hatchlings scurrying to the sea.

Covering 18 Hectares, Heron Island lies on the Tropic of Capricorn (23 degrees south of the equator), 72 kilometres NE off the coast from Gladstone, central Queensland. 534 kilometres north of Brisbane. 1,183 kilometres south of Cairns. Heron Island operates 1 hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST) all year round.
